Matric 1964
Post matric Diploma in Carpet Technology - Kidderminster College - UK - 1973.

Hobbies/Interests:

Retired - doing as little as possible.

Watching sport - rugby , cricket, UK football.

Playing golf badly. Given up golf

Starting to play bowls at Hillcrest b/club. Given up bowls due to loss of balance as a result of triple by- pass in June 2019
.
Intrested in cars - music - help with the sound at Hillcrest Methodist Church.

Walking - try and do 5 km/ day - doing 6km 3 x a week

School Story:

Started in 1960 - 3 gb - played cricket with Colts - under "Duckie" Logan.
1961 - 4 gb - played 2nd xi - with Dusty Draper. Awarded 1/2 colours
1962 - 5 gb - played 2nd xi - occassional game with the 1st xi. Failed this year.
1963 - 5 gb - payed 1st xi with Barry Richards - under Theobald.Full colours
1964 - 6 gb - Played 1st xi - captain - Honours.

Rubbish at rugby - played - lowest possible

Helped Reg van Rij and Rodger Griffiths win the school Talent contest in 1962 - The Great Pretender - mime - I did the sound.
Reg digging up a small part of the cricket pitch - " holy acre" and planting a banana tree in it.
The Dawbry brothers reading in Afrikaans in Mr. Coldpeppers English class.- 5 gb - 1962.
Sas Nourse throwing science / maths sets out of the window onto the prefab roofs if you were not listening.
Watching Barry Richards, Lee Irwine and Anderson and then Harvey Wanneburg demolish the opposition during the 1962 cricket season.

What else have you been up to since 1964?

Woked @ Mobil [Engen] Refinery from 65 to 68, Greaves and Thomas 68 to 70 then to Carpet Manufacturing Company from 70 to 2010. This co. changed it's name a number of times -part of Romatex, then Ulster, eventually Crossley Carpets. Started as a Methods Engineer, worked through all the departments, settled in QA from 86 to 2002 , then Production director till 2010.

The Anaconda Adventure Race in Western Australia is held in Augusta which is the Cape Aghulas of WA - southern most point and although quite picturesque, can be quite bleak and windy.
Daughter Jaclyn - 12.5 km rock scramble and beach run
Son Nic 1.9 km ocean swim
Dad 13.5 ocean surf ski paddle and
Daughters partner Brad the 32 km mountain bike ride
All team members complete with a 2.5 km beach run
A really great event
